Risk Disclosure

Last updated: June 2026 · Please read carefully before using the Service.

Important: Trading stocks and other securities involves substantial risk of loss. Past performance of any agent strategy — whether in paper mode or live — is not indicative of future results. You can lose some or all of the money you invest.

1. Market Risk

The value of any security can decline rapidly and unpredictably due to economic conditions, geopolitical events, company-specific news, or changes in market sentiment. No strategy or algorithm can eliminate market risk. Even well-designed agent strategies will experience losing trades and losing periods.

2. Algorithm and Model Risk

Market Capt'n's agents analyze historical price and volume data to generate trade proposals. These models:

  • Are based on technical indicators, not fundamental analysis or news sentiment.
  • Have been developed using historical data and may not perform as expected in future market conditions.
  • Can generate false signals — a "buy" proposal may result in a loss.
  • Do not account for sudden market disruptions, halts, or extreme volatility events.
  • Have not been audited by any regulatory body.

3. Execution Risk

Trade orders are executed through your Robinhood account. Market Capt'n has no control over order execution quality, fill prices, partial fills, or order rejections. Limit orders may not fill. Market orders may fill at prices significantly different from the proposal price.

4. Technology Risk

Market Capt'n is a software service that depends on internet connectivity, Robinhood's API availability, and third-party data providers. Service interruptions, API outages, or data errors could prevent you from accessing proposals, reviewing orders, or managing positions at critical moments.

5. Paper Trading ≠ Live Trading

Paper trading results — including those generated by Market Capt'n's free paper mode — do not reflect real market conditions. Paper trades execute at quoted prices without slippage, partial fills, or liquidity constraints. Live trading results will differ, often unfavorably, from paper trading results.

6. You Are Responsible for Every Trade

Market Capt'n agents propose; you approve. Every order submitted to Robinhood requires your explicit confirmation. You are solely responsible for the trades you approve, their size, timing, and risk. Do not approve orders you do not understand.

7. No Guaranteed Returns

Market Capt'n makes no representation that any agent strategy will be profitable or will achieve any particular return. All strategy descriptions, signal frequencies, and win rates shown in the application are illustrative and not guarantees. Historical win rates do not guarantee future win rates.

8. Suitability

Algorithmic trading tools may not be suitable for all investors. Before using Market Capt'n with real money, consider your investment objectives, risk tolerance, financial situation, and experience level. If you are unsure, consult a registered financial adviser.

9. Regulatory Disclosure

Market Capt'n is not registered as an investment adviser, broker-dealer, or financial planner with the SEC, FINRA, or any other regulatory body. The Service is a technology platform only. Market Capt'n is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Robinhood Markets, Inc. Robinhood is a trademark of Robinhood Markets, Inc.
